To order a PCB from Utronix, upload your Gerber files (plus the BOM and Pick & Place files if you want assembly) to our online order system. Once you enter layers, quantity and size, the price is calculated and a quote is sent to you. When you approve the quote and pay, production starts.
Can I place a fast PCB order, and how long does fast PCB manufacturing take?
Yes, you can place a fast PCB order at Utronix by uploading your files and calculating the price instantly. Two-layer, green FR-4, JLCPCB-standard PCBs up to 100 × 100 mm and up to 30 pieces are shipped from our Istanbul warehouse to your address within 7-12 business days. If your need is more urgent, tell us through the Get a Quote form or WhatsApp and we will state the available options in the quote.
A PCB assembly order needs three files: the PCB Gerber files, an LCSC-compatible BOM (bill of materials) and a Pick & Place (component coordinate) file. For a bare PCB, the Gerber files are enough. You can download sample BOM and CPL templates from the first step of the order process.
There are four steps: upload files, price and quote, production and testing, delivery. After you upload your files the price is calculated and a quote is sent; once payment is received, component sourcing and production begin. Boards are tested and analysed, then shipped from our Istanbul warehouse.
Payment is taken after your files are reviewed, the price is calculated and the quote has been sent to you. Component sourcing and production start after payment. So you do not pay anything at the quote stage.
How do I get a PCB price and how long does the quote take?
Upload your Gerber files (with BOM and Pick & Place for assembly) to our order system to calculate the price; the quote is then sent to you. Our engineers may review complex files further. For an exact price and timing, upload your files or contact us through the Get a Quote form.
Can I start with a prototype and move to series production later?
Yes, you can start with a sample or prototype order and move to series production with the same files. After you test and approve the sample you do not need to prepare the design again, you only increase the quantity. Low-volume prototypes and series orders run through the same system. Standard assembled samples (5 pieces) ship within 9-13 business days.
How do I calculate a PCB price, is there an online PCB price calculator?
Yes, in Utronix's online order system you upload your Gerber file and enter layers, quantity and board size to calculate the PCB price quickly. If you also want assembly, add the BOM and Pick & Place files; PCB, component and assembly items are combined into one quote. The calculated price is sent to you as a quote, and payment is taken only after you approve it.
PCB price is mainly determined by layer count, board size, order quantity, material, surface finish and solder mask colour. If you add assembly, component cost and assembly labour are included. For an exact price, upload your Gerber files and get a quote.
Assembly price is made up of the PCB fabrication cost, component cost, assembly labour and set-up items (stencil, machine preparation). The number of components, the number of unique parts and single- or double-sided assembly all affect cost. When you upload BOM and Pick & Place files, the items are combined into one quote. Utronix offers assembly at affordable prices.
What is a stencil (solder paste stencil) and do I need one for assembly?
A stencil is a thin steel template used to apply solder paste precisely onto the pads of a board, and it is required for solder paste printing in SMT assembly. In assembly orders, BOM and stencil sourcing are handled under one roof, so you do not have to organise them separately.
When and how is my order delivered, and which provinces do you ship to?
A standard PCBA sample order of 5 pieces ships within 9-13 business days, and standard 2-layer, up to 100 × 100 mm, up to 30 pcs, green FR-4 JLCPCB PCBs within 7-12 business days, from our Istanbul warehouse to your address. For other products (larger sizes, different layer counts, materials or quantities) the time depends on the product, quantity and component sourcing and is stated in the quote. Orders ship to every province in Türkiye.
Do you handle import and shipping of components from abroad?
Yes, we manage import, customs clearance and cargo for PCBs and components sourced from abroad. We receive regular shipments from our Far East partners, so you deal with a single supplier and do not have to follow customs and freight separately.
Utronix sources multilayer PCBs from 1 layer up to 64 layers. Prototypes and series production are possible, from simple single-layer boards to complex high-layer designs. Layer count affects price and lead time, and our engineers can advise on the right stack-up for your design.
Besides standard FR-4, we can produce flex PCBs, aluminium PCBs, copper-core boards and Rogers materials for high frequency. The material is chosen according to the thermal, frequency and mechanical needs of the application. If you are unsure, send us your project details.
Yes, flex PCB manufacturing and flex PCB assembly are part of our services. Flexible boards replace cables and connectors in tight, moving or folded structures. You can get engineering support to check that your design is suitable for flex production.
What is the difference between HASL, lead-free HASL and ENIG?
HASL coats the pads with tin-lead solder, lead-free HASL is the RoHS-compliant version of the same process, and ENIG is a thin gold layer over nickel. ENIG gives a flatter surface and is preferred for fine-pitch parts such as BGA and QFN; HASL is more economical.
What board sizes and copper weights can be produced?
The maximum panel size for PCB manufacturing is 400 × 500 mm, outer-layer copper can be 1 oz or 2 oz, and the minimum hole diameter is 0.2 mm. For special designs that need a larger size or a different copper weight, contact our technical team.
PCBs can be made with green, purple, red, yellow, blue, white, black, matte black and matte green solder mask. Colour changes appearance, not technical performance; green is the most common. Some colours may affect price and lead time.
Do you review my PCB design before production and offer design and project support?
Yes, under our PCB design and project support service we carry out design review and manufacturability (DFM) analysis. Spotting likely problems in your Gerber and BOM files before production reduces cost and delay. You can contact us for technical support at every step of your project.
PCB Assembly and Components
Do you offer PCB assembly (PCBA)?
Yes, besides bare PCB manufacturing, Utronix offers SMT and THT assembly (PCBA). Send your Gerber, LCSC-compatible BOM and Pick & Place files and we manage component sourcing, assembly and mounting in one place. Assembly quality follows the IPC-A-610 standard. A standard PCBA sample order of 5 pieces ships from our Istanbul warehouse to your address within 9-13 business days, at affordable prices.
Do you offer urgent PCB assembly (fast PCBA), and how can I shorten the lead time?
Yes, Utronix offers fast PCB assembly (PCBA); for urgent projects just state the urgency at the quote stage, and the time, based on board complexity, quantity and component stock, is stated in the quote. To shorten lead time, prepare an LCSC-compatible BOM and a correct Pick & Place file, prefer in-stock components and upload all files completely in one go. A standard PCBA sample order (5 pieces) ships within 9-13 business days.
What are SMT and THT assembly and how do they differ?
SMT (surface-mount technology) solders components directly onto the board surface, while THT (through-hole technology) passes component leads through holes and solders them. SMT is fast for small, dense boards; THT is used for parts needing mechanical strength, such as connectors. Many boards use both.
A BOM (bill of materials) lists every component on the board: reference, value, footprint and part number. Because we work with JLCPCB, parts are matched to LCSC part numbers; an LCSC-compatible BOM speeds up sourcing and lowers the risk of errors. You can download a sample BOM from the order process.
What is a Pick & Place (CPL) file and how is it created?
A Pick & Place (CPL) file gives each component's X-Y position, rotation and board side; the assembly machine places parts accordingly. Most PCB design tools generate it automatically. Columns: Designator, MidX, MidY, Layer, Rotation.
Do you source electronic components and buy in bulk?
Yes, Utronix sources electronic components and buys in bulk. We supply original-source parts with flexible MOQ and a multi-supplier network, and combine the parts on your BOM with your assembly order. For parts that are out of stock we review alternatives with you.
Can you assemble BGA, QFN and very small components (0201, 01005)?
Yes, BGA, QFN and components as small as 01005 / 0201 can be assembled; the minimum pitch for standard BGAs is 0.35 mm. For these assemblies we check the manufacturability of the board and parts. Upload your files or contact us for details.
A PCB (printed circuit board) is a board that connects electronic components with copper traces and holds them mechanically. It is usually made by applying copper layers and solder mask to an insulating base such as FR-4. PCBs are used in almost every electronic device.
What is a Gerber file and why is it needed for a PCB?
Gerber is the standard file format for PCB manufacturing; it carries the copper layers, solder mask, silkscreen and board outline to the manufacturer. The Gerber and drill files exported from your design tool are uploaded as a zip, and the board is made from them.
What is FR-4 and why is it the most common PCB material?
FR-4 is the standard PCB base material made of glass-fibre-reinforced epoxy resin with flame-retardant properties. It offers good electrical insulation, mechanical strength and low cost, so it suits most applications. For high temperature or high frequency, special materials such as High-Tg or Rogers are preferred.
What is a via, and what are blind and buried vias?
A via is a plated hole that creates an electrical connection between PCB layers. A through-hole via goes through the whole board; a blind via connects an outer layer to an inner layer, and a buried via connects only inner layers. Blind and buried vias save space in dense (HDI) designs but raise cost.
What is reflow soldering and how does it work in SMT assembly?
Reflow soldering passes a board with printed solder paste and placed components through an oven with a controlled temperature profile. The paste is printed with a stencil, the machine places the components, then the paste melts in the oven to form the joints. Nitrogen reflow reduces oxidation and improves solder quality.
What is a controlled-impedance PCB and when do I need it?
A controlled-impedance PCB is designed, by calculating trace width, layer stack-up and dielectric thickness, so that signal traces have a specific characteristic impedance (for example 50 Ω single-ended or 90/100 Ω differential). It is needed for high-speed signals such as USB, HDMI, Ethernet, DDR and RF.
One or two layers are enough for simple circuits; designs that need dense routing, power distribution and noise control usually use 4, 6 or more layers. More layers improve signal integrity and EMI performance but raise cost. Component count, signal speed and board size decide together.
Which software is used to design PCBs and how do I export Gerber files?
KiCad, Altium Designer, Eagle, OrCAD and EasyEDA are widely used for PCB design, and all can output Gerber, drill and Pick & Place files. KiCad is free and open source; EasyEDA runs in the browser and works with the LCSC part library. The export menu differs by software.
IPC-A-610 is the international standard that defines acceptability criteria for assembled electronic boards, covering solder joints, component alignment and cleanliness. Assembling to IPC-A-610 helps keep board quality reliable and repeatable.
How is Utronix different from local PCB shops and from ordering directly from abroad?
Utronix bridges the high tooling costs and long lead times of traditional local PCB shops and the complicated procedures of ordering directly from global factories. Through our online order system we bring global manufacturing power to industrial companies and engineers in Türkiye; your order is followed with local engineering support and delivered from our Istanbul warehouse.
Do you make PCBs for university project teams, Teknofest and the defence industry?
